Understand Emotions, Expressions and Feelings-
Learn how to help children understand their feelings and emotions; support children's emotional development; and promote social-emotional development.
A child’s social-emotional development shapes their sense of self, influences how they learn, and fosters meaningful relationships. It drives communication, connection, and conflict resolution, building the confidence and resilience needed to achieve goals. A strong social-emotional foundation in childhood sets the stage for lifelong happiness and the ability to navigate stress and challenges as adults. |

Challenging Behaviors -
This workshop builds on the learnings from Part 1, focusing on addressing behaviors adults find challenging and strategies to manage challenging behaviors.

Explore culture and your own social identity and build strategies to support children and their understanding of differences around race, culture, and identity.
At an early age, children begin to notice differences in the people around them. Although children are unable to fully process or understand the differences, they notice the differences in skin color, facial features, and language. |

Support for Children with Special Needs - Covers key topics including the definition of disability, ADA requirements, assessments and diagnosis, and support resources. Learn about legal protections, compliance obligations and the importance of advocacy for Black and African American children with special needs and disabilities. Get information about resources and participate in discussions, share your experiences, and gain valuable insights on providing inclusive and effective care. |
